This is not a film review — Lana Morgan will take care of that.
Although I must say that I loved every movie I got to attend!
However, I just have to comment on the experience of GOING to the Lone Star Film Festival.
What bliss!
To attend a movie with all adults … no whining or crying children to put up with.
Mature adults who immediately turn off their cell phones. And I mean OFF – no little lights in the aisle, no buzz of a silent ring.
And they are QUIET – ahhh the bliss of not hearing someone's constant commentary during the film … usually a commentary I don't agree with.
They laugh when it's funny, clap when it's joyful and gasp when it's terrifying.
No having to sit through 30 minutes of commercials and outdated trivia. (Didn't we used to go to the movies to get away from the commercials?)
The fun of getting to spot a few stars or shake their hand, without them trying to duck away. The celebrities were exceptionally open and nice to everyone.
In other words, the biggest draw besides the celebrities and seeing top movies before they are released, is getting to share the experience with a crowd who is there to SEE THE MOVIE!
Yay! Thank you Lone Star crowd. I truly enjoyed the movie experience for the first time in years!
And in the Spirit of Good Theater Going, I am giving away 2 tickets to Casa Manaña's Broadway show: 42nd Street for the Nov. 18th 2pm final show.
Comment below to enter, and I will draw from those entries Friday.
