Hear ye, hear ye: An official spoken — or in this case, written — announcement follows.
Lady Gaga is coming to town this summer.
Officials for the uber-talented and versatile singer, songwriter, and actress announced on Monday morning that Arlington’s Globe Life Field is among the sites of The Chromatica Ball stadium tour, a special 14-city worldwide limited run of exclusive performances this summer.
This could be the biggest thing happening at Globe Life Field this summer considering Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers are mixed up in a labor lockout currently.
However, we’ll be fully entertained with at least one bad romance, err, Bad Romance, this summer.
Lady Gaga rolls in here on Aug. 23. Tickets go on sale March 14. If you’re a Citi cardmember, you’ll have access to presale tickets beginning 10 a.m. Tuesday — as in, tomorrow — through 5 p.m. Friday through the Citi Entertainment program. Go to www.citientertainment.com for those details.
Live Nation is putting this on. Promoters boast that — are you sitting down? — “this summer’s tour promises to be full-scale Lady Gaga,” featuring established hits and the first public live performances from the critically acclaimed Grammy-award winning 2020 “Chromatica.”
For all shows in the U.S., $1 from each ticket sold will be donated to the Born This Way Foundation, founded by Gaga and her mother Cynthia Germanotta in 2012.
Lady Gaga is an Academy Award, Golden Globe and 12-time Grammy-winner, amassing album sales totaling 36 million globally. In addition to 60 billion streams and 393 million in song consumption, Gaga is one of the best-selling musicians of all time.
Gaga also is a “one of the biggest living forces” in social media with more than 55 million followers on Facebook and more than 84 million followers on Twitter, as well as 51 million followers on Instagram.
We know people who would kill for those numbers.
