Lowrider bicycles, pedal cars, and work by Latin artists will be on display at the Lowrider: Cultura & Art Show.
From decked-out lowrider bikes to elaborate visual art, Friday's fundraiser benefiting Artes de la Rosa promises a celebration of diversity within Latin culture.
"Lowrider: Cultura & Art Show" will take place from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Artes de la Rosa Cultural Center at the Historic Rose Marine Theater — an opening reception kicking off the exhibit of the same name, which will run through Jan. 22. Lowrider bicycles and pedal cars will be on display, along with paintings, photography, and other visual works by artists hailing everywhere from Los Angeles to right here in Fort Worth.
Music, food, and a ballet folklorico performance are also on the program, and raffles will take place with all proceeds benefiting Artes de la Rosa's youth arts programs and theater restoration campaign.
Serving as the show's curator is Fort Worth artist Sarah Ayala, who's perhaps best known for her intricate map designs and geometric murals around town. Ayala is presenting the exhibit in partnership with Artes de la Rosa and the United Lowrider Council of Fort Worth.
Admission to the opening reception is free. RSVP and find more information here.
