The first-ever Rio Festival is coming to Fort Worth Oct. 14 in the up-and-coming River District development.
Produced by event production agency Encore Live, Rio Festival will celebrate Fort Worth's expansion into the River District, located on a 276-acre stretch along the Trinity River near White Settlement and South Roberts Cut Off roads. The festival will include live music, craft beer, food trucks, hay rides, arts and crafts and a pumpkin patch.
Tickets are free for children 12 and under. Adults may either pre-purchase tickets online for $20 or pay $30 at the door with a credit card only. Five dollars of every ticket sale will be donated to the Greater Houston Community Foundation's Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
Guests can bring a lawn chair and a blanket to enjoy live music by hometown artists Peter More, Chris Watson, Zac Wilkerson & the Wayward Souls, Daniel Rocha and Isabella Breedlove starting at 6:30 p.m. Leashed dogs are also welcome.
“We are thrilled to produce the inaugural Rio Festival celebrating Fort Worth's wonderful culture and growth into the River District,” Encore Live CEO Walter Kinzie said. “This is a fun event for the whole family complete with Fort Worth's talented artists, food vendors, musicians and store owners.”
Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. on the West Fork of the Trinity River at 4800 Scott Road.
