Fort Worthians getting their flower crowns ready for the city's upcoming music festival now have a lineup of music artists to go with it – a lineup that includes the minds behind the opening theme of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things.
Fortress Festival, an inaugural music and cultural event taking place April 29-30 in the Cultural District, revealed a lineup Tuesday that includes headliners Run the Jewels and Purity Ring, as well as other artists such as Flying Lotus, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Slowdive and Whitney. S U R V I V E, whose members Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein composed the Stranger Things soundtrack, will also be performing.
The lineup also includes Fort Worth artists Quaker City Night Hawks and The Burning Hotels.
The music festival is a joint effort between The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth-based production and promotions company Fortress Presents. Festival organizers worked closely with marketing and promotions company Margin Walker, along with other advisors on the festival's panel (including Zeke Hutchins from Mick Management, who oversees Fort Worth's own Leon Bridges), to create the lineup.
The event will be held on two different stages in the Cultural District – one on the reflecting pond at The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and one on the grounds of the Will Rogers Memorial Center.
The festival will also offer guests the opportunity to walk through the museums on each day of the event.
