Love Collection
Not to be outdone by the wave of celebrities who dive headfirst into creating clothing lines — Serena Williams, Sean Combs, name a Kardashian — chef, serial restaurateur, and big-idea guy, Tim Love, has officially launched a new fashion brand: the Love Collection.
Now available in that little shop (called Goods and Chattels) inside the chef’s new music venue, Tannahill’s Tavern and Music Hall (122 E. Exchange Ave., Ste. 200), the line includes jeans, jackets, pearl snaps, V-neck tees, and bandanas. The clothes have a Western flare while maintaining a casual and workman-like quality (a combination of M.L. Leddy’s and Dickies, if you will), which makes the shop feel right at home across from the likes of Lucchese and King Ranch.
“It’s all stuff I would wear,” Love said during the line’s unveiling. “I almost always just wear a V-neck tee and jeans, and I wanted to offer something like that of high quality.”
According to a press release, Love partnered with personal friend, long-time collaborator, and dude-who-knows-all-things-denim, Marcus Hall of craft denim brand Marc Nelson Denim, which is based in Love's college town of Knoxville, Tennessee. “Hall's skill and commitment to premium denim are a perfect match for Love's vision, resulting in a collection that is both stylish, rugged, and sure to stand the test of time,” a statement reads.
An almost exclusively denim and canvas line (outside of the V-neck tee), a pair of women’s shorts frayed at the bottom will run you $162, while a canvas trucker jacket costs $287. Yes, this is all high-end stuff — though you can get a Love-branded bandana for $30.
A prolific entrepreneur who’s far from entering a creative lull, the Love Collection marks the sixth venture (when including restaurants, music venues, music festivals, and hotels) the celebrity chef has launched over the past 18 months.
“Within the past few years, I've decided to double down on my creativity and take on projects I feel most passionate about,” Love said in a statement. “The Love Collection is just the next evolution of that."
