Working as both a style contributor for Fort Worth, Texas magazine and now helping launch the new style blog for FWTX.com, I am afforded the wonderful ability to give readers an in-depth look at some of their favorite items featured in each month's magazine here on the blog. First up, March!
March's style feature is all about adventure. I selected the coolest gear and gadgets perfect for any outdoor excursion, and through my styling research I came across an incredible brand of footwear carried by Fort Worth's own Backwoods. Oliberté boots and shoes are exclusively produced in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and are the first Fair Trade Certified footwear manufacturing factory in the world! I love fashion with a mission. In addition to their certification, the manufacturer is setting new standards for work quality and fair wages in Africa. Each beautiful boot is individually crafted by hand, sourced from premium local goods and comes with a lifetime warranty against any manufacturing defects.

This is the first year Backwoods has carried the shoe brand, but the product deeply aligns with their core values of selecting products based on quality and choosing companies that support efforts to promote the betterment of people and the sustainability of the world.
You can select from three different styles currently carried by Backwoods or go online to oliberte.com and select from a wide variety of options. My personal favorite is the fringed woman’s HIRARI boot. So chic.
Check out this beautiful video for more about the company and its mission to make long lasting products in Africa.
