Whether your spring break has passed, is yet to come, or doesn’t even exist, I’ve rounded up some of my must haves (and lust haves) for going somewhere warm. Vacation is the perfect time to make more daring fashion choices. You’re letting your hair down and kicking your heels up, so why shouldn’t you flash your brightest pink lips or wear the statement necklace that’s normally hiding in a bathroom cabinet?
Topping it Off: You probably won’t think about your straw hat when you need to run to Target for errands. No, I don’t either. But it’s vacation! Pair your fave hat with a sundress and cute sandals for the plane.
Footwear: Your instincts will tell you to reach for your flip-flops first, but when you’re not actually on the beach, why not switch it up? These gladiator sandals and espadrilles are perfect for lunch or dinner.
Beach Bag: Get something tough enough to stand up to sand and roomy enough to hold one or two (or five) magazines plus all of your sunscreen. Stick to a neutral palette and voila, you can wear it with everything.
Clutch Time: It’s a good idea to have a smaller (and very cute) clutch to grab and go for a night out. Plus, you can always use it to keep your big purse more organized while you’re jet setting.
The Bikini: I literally penciled in my green juice cleanse once I saw this beautiful bikini! Triangl has a lot of brights and whites that are sure to bring out the most golden tan that we are all hungry for.
Baubles: If a work dress code doesn’t allow you to wear your biggest and boldest pieces, now is definitely the time to show them off. Grab all of your colorful stones and iridescent leather tassels galore.
Beauty: Unless you look like a lobster, the sun does most of the work on your skin! I like to keep my face moisturized and just add bronzer. I’ll do minimal eye makeup and then a big pop of color for my lips.
Sunnies: These are a bit of a splurge, but good sunglasses typically will be. Chances are, they are a very classic style and can be taken through the seasons with you. This Tom Ford pair is at the top of my wish list.
Later this spring, look forward to some pieces that work for other trip destinations – think mountains, city, country and even across the pond. I’m always open to hearing your suggestions or just to hearing from y’all in general, so feel free to drop me a line!
