Cocktails from Tinis
If you’re celebrating Cinco de Mayo without a margarita in your hand, then you’re looking at a serious blow to your credentials as a Texan (much less a Fort Worthian). Thankfully, Cowtown’s full of great places to grab that slushy concoction of tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. Below is an arm-chair (and far from comprehensive) list of solid choices for your Cinco de Mayo celebration.
1. Joe T Garcia’s

No Margarita list is complete without Joe T’s. Faithful to authentic Mexican fare, Joe T’s offers North Texas’ most celebrated patio to spend your glorious Cinco de Mayo. While its food menu doesn’t reach too far beyond classic fajitas and enchiladas, the iconic restaurant manages eight options to fuel your margarita needs.Word to the wise: These margs pack a punch.
Our recommendation: House Margarita
2201 N Commerce St.
2. Taco Heads

If you’re a serious foodie, this Funkytown staple delivers on all of your Cinco de Mayo taco and marg needs. They have five margaritas for a $5 deal, but their Best in Texas is…well. The Best in Texas.
Our recommendation: Muddled Avocado Margarita
1812 Montgomery St.
3. Tinies

Crystal Wise
Known for its rustic and authentic Mexican-style flavors, Tinies also has a spectacular drink menu that’s worthy of a visit. While one can choose from any of the restaurant’s bevy of cocktails, it’s Cinco de Mayo, so we recommend a classic tequila drink.
Our recommendation: a Mezcal flight
113 S Main St.
4. Blue Mesa Grill

If you haven’t been to Blue Mesa Grill, then you haven’t earned your Fort Worthian merit yet. The restaurant was chosen by our readers as the best happy hour spot in 2017, and it still holds up. They serve a long list of cocktails, but their classic margaritas have always gotten a thumbs up from us.
Our recommendation: House Margarita
612 Carroll St.
5. Rio Mambo

Last but not least is Rio Mambo, where you can find just about anything your palate (that’s no doubt itching for Mexican food) desires. Make your way to the bar for a full list of cocktail goodies that includes a wide range of blended margarita flavors.
Our recommendation: Mag-arita
(Selfishly named after our magazine, but it’s our favorite for a reason.)
