Dutch Bros Coffee
A popular West Coast coffee company has set a date for the opening of its first Fort Worth location.
Oregon-based Dutch Bros Coffee anticipates opening its fourth Texas drive-thru stand at 3007 Altamesa Blvd. by Sept. 15; and after that, another Fort Worth location is expected to open by next March at 2317 W. Berry St. not far from Texas Christian University’s campus.
The menu consists of not only classics like handcrafted coffee, tea, smoothies, and a variety of pre-packaged foods, but also a private label energy drink called Dutch Bros Blue Rebel and a proprietary blend of chocolate milk, which vice president of design and construction Daniel Batty says “is probably the world’s best chocolate milk.” Better yet, the menu evolves each month with the introduction of two or three new specialty drinks.
Beyond serving coffee, Dutch Bros boasts about a vibrant atmosphere at each location.
“I like to call it the ‘party in the parking lot,’” vice president of development Aaron Harris says. “You come to Dutch Bros for your daily escape.”
Dutch Bros Coffee emerged from modest beginnings. After pivoting from their careers as dairy farmers, Dane and Travis Boersm decided to branch out of the industry and founded their coffee company in Grant Pass, Oregon, in 1992. Today, Dutch Bros had expanded to 457 stands across 10 states.
The coffee company is slowly but surely making its way into the Lone Star State after opening its first Texas location in College Station, its second in Killeen on April 1, and one more expected to open in McKinney at some point over the next few weeks. By this time next year, Harris says, Dutch Bros anticipates having 70 locations across the state, with five of those being in Fort Worth.
The philosophy of the brand, Batty says, is to serve with love — in addition to the millions of dollars which have been donated to ALS research, Dutch Bros also looks to donate to the community it serves.
“We’re excited to get into new locations and share who we are as a brand,” Batty says.
