AVOCA Coffee Roasters
AVOCA Coffee Roasters
One of the first brands to kickstart Fort Worth's craft coffee scene will soon be opening in an iconic city landmark.
AVOCA Coffee Roasters will open a location at the Fort Worth Stockyards, at 128 E. Exchange Ave., Ste. 560, inside the Mule Alley development. The coffee shop is expected to open this winter.
“Being able to serve the Fort Worth community has always meant so much to us. We couldn’t be happier to open our newest location in the heart of the city, at Mule Alley," CEO Craig Morgan said in a statement. "The Fort Worth Stockyards brings a modern edge to old traditions, and we like to think AVOCA Coffee does the same."
The shop will serve signature offerings like the Charlie Sheen (a blend of iced coffee and Mexican Coca-Cola) and other staples like lattes, cappuccinos, and cold brew. Eats like cinnamon rolls, bagels, and tacos will also be on the menu.
AVOCA got its start in 2011 and has since grown to have two brick-and-mortar locations (Mule Alley will be the third) and coffee sold at grocery stores, restaurants, and other shops around the state.
For the Mule Alley location, Mitchell Garman Architects is designing a space that "pays homage to Cowtown’s country roots while maintaining the edgy, urban vibe that is representative of AVOCA," according to a news release. The space spans approximately 780 square feet and will expand to about 1,100 square feet with a Mezzanine and an outdoor café area.
“Just like the historic Stockyards served as a meeting place and destination for people to congregate, we believe AVOCA serves the same purpose, marrying the tradition of drinking coffee and gathering with friends, family, and colleagues," Morgan said.
