WATERS Bonnell's Coastal Cuisine announced today that it will move from West 7th relocate to Sundance Square. Chef Jon Bonnell will move his much-loved upscale restaurant to 301 Main Street replacing current resident Mercury Chop House. The West 7th location will close this month. Right on the heels of neighbor FW Market + Table closing, and amidst rumblings of other West 7th tenants shutting down, it might be fair to speculate the area's high rents played a role in the decision. But, Jon Bonnell is excited about the new location.
“Sundance Square is an iconic location and uniquely Fort Worth…I wanted to find a location with a lot of character and a great presence in the community. Relocating to Sundance Square is a once in a lifetime opportunity and the timing is perfect," said Bonnell. “Sundance Square has it all. I am thrilled to have found a new site with a great atmosphere, loyal following, and plentiful parking.”
The addition of WATERS will offer another fine dining option to residents and visitors of Sundance Square. The move also allows the restaurant to be placed on the exclusive vendors list for the Pavilion in Sundance Square Plaza.
Visitors should expect several new menu options, and a completely updated look with earth tones and natural light. The restaurant will offer a patio on Commerce Street directly across from the Wells Fargo and D. R. Horton Towers where guests will find plenty of shade, comfortable seating, a full outdoor bar and the full-service menu. This location will also showcase a large indoor bar - a popular amenity in the current location.
“Mercury Chop House has been a great tenant for more than 15 years,” said Johnny Campbell, president and CEO of Sundance Square. “The restaurant will always be a part of Sundance Square's rich history and is leaving a wonderful legacy. It is quite extraordinary that we have WATERS poised to take on this space and are looking forward to the next chapter at 301 Main Street.”
