Chef Jett Mora of Café Modern
The new era of Café Modern, now in the hands of Wolfgang Puck Catering, officially starts Tuesday.
The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth's signature restaurant will reopen for lunch, brunch, and bar service after being closed since March 2020. General manager Roxanne Mclarry will return, with Wolfgang Puck Catering veteran chef Jett Mora leading the kitchen.
Café Modern promises a reimagined menu of "comfort food with global influences and beverage program showcasing local spirits." Highlights include a Sicilian Melt featuring eggplant and portobello agrodolce, and a Fontina cheese blend, on sourdough. There's also a pan-roasted mahi mahi with Bengali curry, sugar snap peas, zucchini, avocado butter, and chili oil.
For brunch, guests can expect entrées like birria beef migas and a Southern fried chicken biscuit sandwich.
Lunch hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; brunch hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and beverages and light bites are available Tuesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
There's no dinner service yet, but the restaurant expects to host dinner on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Café Modern will begin taking reservations on Monday via OpenTable or by calling 817.840.2157.
