Weatherford, Texas – September 10, 2014 – Chef Jerrett Joslin, an award-winning chef and well-known figure in the Fort Worth and Weatherford dining scenes, today announced that he will open a new restaurant – Vintage Grill & Car Museum – in Weatherford and move The Wild Mushroom Steak House & Lounge to Fort Worth in late fall of this year.
Vintage Grill & Car Museum, a new restaurant concept featuring farm-to-table southern style cuisine with a twist plus a vintage car collection, is currently under construction. Chef Joslin, owner and executive chef at the award-winning The Wild Mushroom Steak House & Lounge in Weatherford, and Tom Moncrief are collaborating to create the new restaurant, bar and car museum, located at 202 Fort Worth Hwy off the square in Weatherford.
Joslin will serve as co-owner and executive chef at the new restaurant, which will feature outdoor patio dining, indoor dining, a bar, a gift shop and Moncrief's eclectic collection of vintage automobiles. Vintage Grill & Car Museum will offer a lunch menu, dinner menu and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. The menus will feature authentic southern cuisine with a Chef Joslin twist, including chicken fried steak, chicken and waffles, salads and more, with produce sourced, to the extent possible, from the Weatherford Farmer's Market across the street. The museum will be open during restaurant hours, and there will be no admittance fee.
“We're excited to bring this unique dining experience to Weatherford's downtown,” said Joslin. “We are in the perfect location to serve local businesses and residents as well as those looking for a destination experience while visiting the area.”
At the same time, Joslin is also moving The Wild Mushroom Steak House & Lounge (currently located in Weatherford and celebrating its 5-year anniversary) to Fort Worth in November of this year. It will be relocated to 3206 Winthrop Avenue, in the Ridglea Village Shopping Center, near the corner of Camp Bowie and Bryant Irvin (where Ray's was formerly located). Customers can expect to see favorite dishes alongside new items on the menu, an expanded wine list, a new executive sous chef and catering director plus a new color scheme in the dining room.
Since its opening in 2009, The Wild Mushroom has been a favorite dining destination for locals and tourists alike, winning numerous awards, including Fort Worth, Texas Magazine's “Worth the Drive” (2011 and 2012) and an “Award of Excellence" from Wine Spectator. The restaurant and lounge offer upscale cuisine in an intimate atmosphere and showcase an ever- changing menu that combines modern creativity with western gourmet classics.
“We have thoroughly enjoyed our first five years located in Parker County and appreciate our Weatherford area customers and all those who have regularly made the drive out from Fort Worth,” said owner and executive chef Jerrett Joslin. “We look forward to this next chapter of growth and will enjoy serving both new and familiar faces at both restaurants.”
In addition to The Wild Mushroom, chef Jerrett Joslin has served as a co-owner, executive chef and manager of numerous local hot spots including the Bent Lounge, Bar 9, Sodo Grill and Randall's Gourmet Cheesecake, which received the Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator and was voted a “Most Romantic Restaurant in Texas” by Gourmet Magazine. Joslin is also often seen at many local charitable events, where he gives back as a celebrity chef.
More details about both restaurants and their grand opening celebrations will are forthcoming. Additionally, Joslin plans to create another concept at the existing Weatherford location in late fall or early winter; details will be announced at a later date.
