TreMogli
The Near Southside will soon be saying "ciao" to an Italian restaurant opening next year.
TreMogli Cucina Italiana is set to open May 2021, joining the growing portfolio of restaurants by Trident Restaurant Group, which is run by principal owners Kyle Bryson and Wallace Owens and executive chef/partner Stefon Rishel.
TreMogli is bringing Northeast-inspired, family-style servings of pasta, bread, wine, and other Italian favorites. With over 7,000 square feet, the restaurant allows guests to look into the open kitchen and watch pasta being made fresh throughout the evening. The upstairs bar has a variety of wines and cocktails for guests to choose from, all to complement available desserts and dishes.
“You’ll see a lot of Northern Italian inspiration and Northeast Jersey-style of food but also filling the much-needed niche without stepping on anyone else's toes,” Rishel says. “There won't be anything like it.”
And no location sells community better than the Fairmount District, Bryson says. “The Near Southside is nothing of what it was back in the day. It's growing in the development of restaurant and art culture and is very much a hot spot right now.”
Of course, with the future of the pandemic still uncertain, Bryson says the restaurant will follow whatever CDC guidelines are in place when the time comes to open.
TreMogli joins Trident Restaurant Group's portfolio of restaurants that include the already open Berry St. Ice House and Wishbone & Flynt.
Bryson has 24 years of experience under his belt, while Rishel has 25, working at places such as Pappasito's Cantina and Pappadueax Seafood Kitchen before gaining notoriety as the executive chef at Fort Worth's MAX's Wine Dive. Trident is Rishel's first venture into the business side.
“I reached out to Stefon via Facebook and essentially told him, ‘Hey I’ve been watching you, and I like your work — would you consider joining our team?’ And the rest is history,” says Bryson.
