Cold Springs Farm, a sustainable heirloom produce farm, has taken fresh fare on the road with its new Veggie Van, which delivers organically grown produce directly to DFW-area consumers.
The Veggie Van—the first mobile farmer's market in North Texas—brings the farm to you. Locals can shop the Veggie Van in Fort Worth on Wednesdays from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Stir Crazy Baked Goods on 106 E. Daggett Ave., and from 4:00-5:00 p.m. at the T&P Lofts on 201 W. Lancaster Ave.
The Veggie Van also makes deliveries upon request to residences, offices and restaurants in Tarrant, Parker, Hood and Wise counties. Depending on location, the cost is a $40 to $54 minimum purchase, which must be prepaid.
Shoppers can climb aboard the Veggie Van and choose from a bountiful selection of seasonal, organically grown produce. Other foods, including farm fresh eggs, raw honey, pastured pork and poultry, as well as grass-fed beef and lamb, are also available for purchase.
“The Veggie Van is a fun and unique way for people to buy fruits and vegetables they may not think to try at the grocery store,” said Beverly Thomas, founder of Cold Springs Farm and owner of the Veggie Van. “This way, you always get something that is good, local and in season.”
Cold Springs Farm also offers a community supported agriculture (CSA) program, which offers four seasonal, 8-week long sessions each year. Subscriptions for the summer session are now available for purchase.
