Crab Du Jour
Crab du Jour out of Levittown, Pennsylvania touts its “Southern charm and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere."
Recently installed signage at The Keg's former location on Southwest Loop 820 announced its next occupant.
The space at 5760 SW Loop 820 will become one of Crab Du Jour’s rapidly expanding collection of Cajun restaurants. The brand, out of Levittown, Pennsylvania, touts its “southern charm and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere,” as well as its “signature Cajun style low country boil.” The rapid expansion of the Crab Du Jour brand went from one location in Pennsylvania to four with the addition of restaurants in Virginia and both North and South Carolina.
They are about to embark on world domination with the opening of no less than 39 more (including two in Texas, one in Fort Worth and another in Wichita Falls – by different franchisees). An explosion of Crab Du Jours will soon dot the map from New York to Alabama.
The Fort Worth location will open first, around April of this year, according to a company spokesperson. The franchisees of this location could not be reached for comment.
The “Boils” allow you to pick your catch: clams, blue or Dungeness crab, shrimp, lobster tail, snow crab legs, crawfish, black or green mussels, or sausage. Then, pick your sauce: Cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper or sauce du jour, in your choice of heat level.
From the cold bar, you can enjoy shrimp cocktail and Blue Point oysters on the half shell or steamed oysters or scallops with the same sauce selection. The extensive menu at Crab Du Jour also has the full range of fried baskets including: shrimp, oyster, tilapia, catfish or chicken for the “land-lovers.”
