Pax & Beneficia Coffee
Taking cues from the Mediterranean regions of Europe, Fort Worth's newest coffee shop is bringing a distinctly Andalusian character to downtown.
Owners Mamdouh Khayat and Mouyyad Abdulhadi have opened their second location of Pax & Beneficia, located near Sundance Square right inside the AC Hotel Fort Worth Downtown. The original is located in Las Colinas, with a third in Dallas' Victory Park on the way.
Khayat and Abdulhadi came up with the idea of opening a shop as they were traveling by train from Stockholm to Oslo — appropriately, enjoying a cup of coffee. They wrote their ideas on paper, eventually bringing them to life in the DFW area, with Andalusian-inspired designs to give each coffee shop a unique flair.

The menu consists mostly of classic drinks, but the shop does have a few nontraditional options such as Turkish coffee or the Mediterranean Limonada, a lemon and mint smoothie blend with rosemary syrup.
“We cater to an audience that prefers classic drinks found at a coffee shop like cappuccinos, lattes, and cortados,” Abdulhadi says. “But we’ve also added some of our unique twists to drinks like our own house-blended syrups that aren’t traditionally found. We’ll continue presenting things that are unique to our concept and bridge the gap between a modern coffee shop and a coffee shop with Andalusian/arabesque vibes.”
