Carter's Coffee
Drink your heart out, Starbucks. There's a new, locally owned spot to get coffee from a drive-thru window.
Carter’s Coffee — named after chef/owner Carter Froman — is celebrating its grand opening Monday, as the first craft coffee drive-thru in Fort Worth. It is located at 2736 Stanley Ave., right in the TCU neighborhood — a more permanent locale after getting its start serving out of a coffee truck in The River District.
With the grand opening comes a curated beverage menu that includes everything from cold brew to Vietnamese iced coffee. Carter’s Coffee also offers an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, with the option to add brisket or bacon. Other quick options include bottled drinks, kombucha, and protein bars.
Froman, who's been a chef for 10 years, says he's always had a passion for coffee. He decided to combine his previous food truck business with coffee — hence the inception of the coffee and breakfast food trailer.
“I saw the need for a drive-thru that wasn’t Starbucks and wanted to have a shop in this part of town where there isn’t one,” Froman says. “I wanted to take the 'from scratch' mentality of restaurants I’ve been a part of as well and combine it with coffee.”
