TX Experimental Rye
The company behind TX Whiskey has launched a new line of products that they say "rival anything TX has created before."
Firestone & Robertson Distilling Co.'s latest concoction — TX Experimental Rye — is the first of the distillery's TX Experimental Series, "dedicated to the exploration of new and forgotten flavors in whiskey," master distiller Rob Arnold said in a news release.
TX Experimental Rye is an uncut, unfiltered, barrel proof, 126.1 proof Texas Straight Rye Whiskey. While most rye whiskeys are produced with corn, barley malt, and a minimum 51% rye, TX Experimental Rye is 100% rye-based (85% rye and 15% malted rye), yielding a flavor profile of cinnamon, clove, sweet spice, fruit, floral, chocolate, and caramel.
"By sticking to a 100% rye recipe, we are able to let the sweet and spicy rye flavors shine through at their fullest," Arnold said.
Firestone & Robertson will carry about 1,000 – 1,500 bottles of TX Experimental Rye at Whiskey Ranch (4250 Mitchell Blvd.), but since the ranch is currently closed to the public, customers will need to purchase through the distillery's click & collect online store.
