Secret Sauce’s Crispy Fried Smoked Wings
During a time when many restaurants found themselves closing their dining rooms and resorting to to-go orders, delivery-only concepts — otherwise known as "ghost kitchens" — became a thing, thriving off the COVID-19 lockdowns when foodies had no choice but to order in.
Now, the management company behind City Works Eatery & Pour House is hopping on the trend, launching its own ghost kitchen concept on Jan. 4.
Bottleneck Management will operate Secret Sauce Barbecue out of the kitchens of City Works Eatery & Pour House, which has a location at The Shops at Clearfork in Fort Worth, as well as Frisco. On the menu are dishes like baby back ribs, pulled barbecue chicken, hot links, crispy fried smoked wings, and Southern macaroni and cheese — all available for delivery via Bottleneck's website, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and DoorDash. A forthcoming Bottleneck Rewards app is also coming soon, with pickup ordering launching early 2021.
Secret Sauce Barbecue is the brainchild of Bottleneck Management owners Jason Akemann, Nate Hilding, and Chris Bisaillon — who, like many restaurateurs, were looking to pivot as the pandemic made its impact on the industry. According to Bottleneck Management, launching a ghost kitchen just made sense, as barbecue "lends itself to a versatile menu, large portions for families, and it travels well in a takeout format."
“We wanted to not only adapt to the changes that the pandemic has thrust upon us, but to implement something that we can grow with as the industry shifts," Angela Zoiss, chief marketing officer for Bottleneck Management, said in a statement. "Our team has been working for months to conceive this new barbecue brand, create a menu, work through the logistics of online ordering, and tackling many tasks involved in bringing this virtual brand to life. We are thrilled to reveal Secret Sauce to the Fort Worth and Frisco communities and hope they enjoy it as much as we do.”
