What started out as a food truck concept nearly a decade ago for the husband-and-wife duo of Travis and Emma Heim has blossomed into the grand-opening of the restaurateurs' fourth location. Heim Barbecue’s latest spot, which resides at 139 W Ellison Street in Burleson, is set to open its doors and let the smoke out on Dec. 2.
This new spot “promises to be a haven for barbecue enthusiasts and food lovers alike,” a release says. This isn’t just lip service either. Over the years, since he was 13 years old to be exact, Travis has been perfecting the craft of smoking meats. Today, Heim BBQ, is best known for its bacon burnt ends, a must-try upon any visit to one of this eatery’s now four spots. And this new locale is no exception.
“[Heim Barbecue] will continue the tradition of delivering mouthwatering, unforgettable barbecue experiences,” a release says. This means the menu at the new Burleson eatery will consist of a diverse array of smoked meats, signature sides, and delectable desserts.
The interior of this new spot, which has been designed by Emma, includes a spacious dining area, a welcoming bar, and a newly remodeled interior. But that’s not the best part. There’s a second story rooftop patio that boasts a full bar, kitchen, and live stage that offers meat afficionados a chance to rock out while enjoying some smoked meats.
The grand opening celebration for this new BBQ spot kicks off on Dec. 2, which will coincide with BTX-Mas, a Christmas themed event hosted by the Burleson Rotary Club. This event kicks off at 6 p.m. with a parade, followed by a tree lighting ceremony and drone show at 8 p.m. Carolers and dancers are scheduled to be in attendance along with Santa Himself. This event, which is taking place at the Mayor Vera Calvin Plaza, directly in front of Heim BBQ Burleson, will include a 34-foot-tall Christmas tree covered with more than 20,000 lights.
Heim Barbecue opened its first brick and mortar spot in 2016 in Fort Worth’s trendy Magnolia neighborhood, literally mere blocks from where Travis grew up. Today, Heim Barbecue is considered one of Cowtown’s most successful homegrown ‘cue businesses.
“This project has been years in the making, and we are so thrilled to finally open our doors and serve BBQ lovers in the City of Burleson, and Johnson County," Travis & Emma Heim wrote in a statement. "You can expect all of the Heim Barbecue favorites like Bacon Burnt Ends, HEIMburgers, ice cold beer, and craft cocktails in a family friendly, inclusive atmosphere. Thank you for welcoming us into the community we can’t wait to open our doors."
