Houston-based B&B Butchers & Restaurant, a traditional butcher shop and upscale steakhouse, has named Fort Worth for its second location. B&B opened its doors on Washington Avenue in June 2015 and has since gained a loyal following from Houstonians. It is one of only nine restaurants in the U.S. that serves 100 percent authentic, A5 certified Kobe beef from Tajima cattle. The restaurant’s Texas and Japanese Wagyu beef, and in-house dry-aged USDA Prime beef, are all hand cut in the butcher shop.
“I wasn't looking to expand when I was approached about opening in Fort Worth, but it made perfect sense,” said owner Benjamin Berg in a press release. “My slaughterhouse is in Fort Worth and I've fallen in love with the quintessentially Texas city and its people, who remind me a lot of Houstonians with their love for philanthropy, art, food and all things Texas.”
B&B Butchers & Restaurant will be located in the center of The Shops at Clearfork and will include a 7,400-square-foot downstairs dining room and butcher shop, a 2,500-square-foot mezzanine and a 1,500-square-foot partially covered patio overlooking the center's park.
Serving lunch, dinner and eventually brunch, B&B Butcher's Fort Worth menu will be similar to that of the Houston location with items like slabs of bacon, classic cuts (think beef wellington and Chateaubriand for two) and cellar cuts (think rare cuts of meat like Kobe and Wagyu), classic sides and B&B burgers.
B&B will be one of the first restaurants to open in The Shops at Clearfork. It's currently planning a September 2017 opening.
