Jimboy's Tacos, which got its start in Lake Tahoe, serves an array of tacos, burritos, salads, and other Mexican-inspired fare.
Parmesan-dusted tacos hailing from Lake Tahoe have arrived in Fort Worth.
Jimboy's Tacos is celebrating its grand opening Saturday at 9316 Clifford St. in West Fort Worth, a few minutes south of Lake Worth. This is the first Texas location of the fast-casual brand, which has more than 40 stores across Northern California and Nevada.
Founded in Lake Tahoe in 1954, Jimboy's is the brainchild of namesake Jim Knudson, whose tacos grew popular thanks to a signature crispy, Parmesan-dusted, stone-ground corn tortilla.
Fort Worth's iteration of the joint is located in a 2,743-square-foot space that also includes a drive-thru. Along with tacos filled with customer's choice of meat, the shop also serves burritos, salads, nachos, quesadillas, taquitos, and a taco burger.
“The entire Jimboy’s Tacos family is excited about the opportunity to bring our famous menu to Fort Worth,” Erik Freeman, CEO of Jimboy’s Tacos, said in a statement. “It's a dream come true for all of us, and we’re thrilled to introduce our guests in the Lone Star State to our Parmesan-dusted tacos.”
Jimboy's is looking to connect with the local community, partnering with Brewer High School, Cook Children’s, H.O.P.E. Farm Inc., and several other nonprofit organizations for the grand opening. Each guest will receive a free ground beef taco and can also get a second taco by downloading the Jimboy’s Tacos mobile app.
“We are excited to celebrate our newest location, and we look forward to expanding our footprint in the Lone Star State,” Mark Lewis, Jimboy’s Fort Worth franchisee, said in a statement. “With quality and convenience as our priority, we’re committed to serving the best-tasting, fast-casual Mexican American fare for our patrons."
