Maiden: Fine Plants & Spirits
Fort Worth restaurateur duo Amy McNutt and James Johnston just announced that reservations for their first fine dining vegan concept titled Maiden: Fine Plants & Spirits are currently open on, Tock. This new 2,100-square-foot dining spot located at 1216 6th Avenue, is scheduled to open on June 1st.
This much-anticipated eatery offers a cruelty-free choice for every palate from sweet treats and comfort food to elegant, and exquisite cuisine, according to a release. Realized after many years of planning and reputation building in North Texas, Maiden is the third concept opening in Spiral's vegan stronghold within Fort Worth's Near Southside District.
This new restaurant will offer a two to three-hour seasonal tasting menu consisting of entirely plant-based courses, with two turns per service. After securing a reservation, patrons can add one of three drink pairings, to their menu of items. For those looking for a more casual experience, Maiden will offer first-come, first-serve seating at the bar and a leisurely outdoor lounge with limited service. A delectable vegan cheese board will be available alongside various drink options.
Maiden is built on the creativity of its two founding members, husband and wife team, Johnston, an internationally recognized filmmaker (The Green Knight, Ghost Story, Ain't Them Body Saints), and McNutt, a beloved community restaurateur with a distinct approach to the culinary scene (Spiral Diner & Bakery, Dreamboat Vegan Donuts & Scoops). With Maiden, the duo's intention is to bring a fine dining experience to the world of vegan cuisine. Each purposefully crafted tasting menu will be based on food that is available in that particular season.
This highly anticipated culinary journey will begin with a sumptuous eight-Course Spring Menu, including Lemongrass Grapefruit Consommé; Roasted Parsnip filled with confit zucchini and walnut served with sourdough bread and shallot jam; a play on potato-leek soup that will surprise patrons, and other conscious culinary indulgences.
"Maiden is all about time,” McNutt says. “The time devoted to forging our beautiful space. The time to thoughtfully compose each course. The time you grant yourself as a guest to relax and relish the experience. And now, finally, it is time to present Maiden to the great state of Texas. I can hardly wait."
The atmosphere in this new space will feature moody dark wood paneling and blue velvet booths creating a warm and intimate atmosphere juxtaposed with large windows facing into PS1200's stunning courtyard and green space. Patrons are highly encouraged to have a tech-free experience, so they can genuinely focus on each scrumptious bite and the special people they share it with.
