Chef Miguel Mendoza
The former OMG Tacos space is making way for a new taqueria.
Maestro Tacos is expected to open at the beginning of November at 3011 Bledsoe St. The fast-casual restaurant will serve a menu that includes birra, carnitas, barbacoa, pollo asado, and trompo (a slow-roasted, marinated pork al pastor served with pineapple), along with a drink menu that lists a selection of margaritas and seasonal aguas frescas. Everything is made in-house, including the tortillas and salsa.
The restaurant is led by Chef Miguel Mendoza, who spent over 16 years working as a butcher in Monterrey, Mexico. According to a news release, Mendoza aims to create a taqueria reminiscent of his hometown.
“Fresh ingredients and fantastic service are what we’re built on," Mendoza said in a statement. "We can’t wait to share what we’ve been cooking up."
