Oak & Eden
Shaken not stirred, neat versus on the rocks, it doesn’t matter, if you’re into whiskey then the Texas-based independent whiskey maker Oak & Eden invites you to try a taste of their libations starting next Saturday.
The brainchild of co-founders Brad Neathery, Joe Giildenzopf, and James Giildenzopf, Oak & Eden is unique in the fact that it was the first American whiskey brand to garner a patent for its distilling process, which forgoes the double barrel aging process altogether. Outside of the brand’s first outpost and micro distillery in Bridgeport, the new Oak & Eden Whiskey tasting room, located at 5289 Marathon Avenue, is being prepared to dazzle whiskey enthusiasts far and wide.
This new over 1,700 square foot space has been outfitted with an expansive wraparound bar, lounge, and outdoor patio seating area all which boast a lavish yet cozy design motif.
Menu options at this new watering hole include Oak & Eden’s eight award-winning permanent whiskies offered neat or on the rocks ($9-$18), a wide selection of its signature cocktails ($14-$18) as well as rotating seasonal cocktails exclusive to the Clearfork locale, according to a release.

One such drink, titled “Midnight in Eden” features butter fat-washed bourbon, plum raisin liqueur, and walnut bitters. Another signature drink of note that will be on hand at this new spot is the “Magnificent Seven”, which is served with shitake and artichoke liqueurs, bitters, and smoked herb oil. Want to try something else? Get one of three tasting flights ($16-$18) curated by the staff at Oak &Eden.
One distinct offering this new tasting room is proud to introduce is Oak & Eden’s very own signature Whiskey Library. And as many can imagine, this isn’t your typical be quiet and study kind of library. Instead, this library consists of an elaborate wall filled with 1,300 bottles of whiskeys created with the brand’s patented In-bottle finishing process, where a “spire” is placed inside the aged whiskey bottle for finishing. This is where the distillery’s patent comes in to play. For those of you not familiar with a spire, it’s a 5-inch-long spiral cut piece of wood that Oak & Eden places into every bottle of its fully aged whiskey. According to Oak & Eden’s website, this piece of wood helps with the whiskey’s finishing process thus adding to the flavor notes of each sip.

Besides trying out the creative expressions already in the Oak & Eden catalogue, customers are invited to build their own custom whiskey bottle. Attendees can choose their own base whiskey, proof, wood type, and infusion from Oak & Eden’s carefully curated Whiskey Library.
This opening also marks the first-time customers will have the opportunity to taste all 550 of the infused whiskey variations available in the experience. These flavors include some exclusive infusions offered only at Clearfork like Creme De Cocoa, Citrus Aperitivo, and Golden Fig liqueur. Once the bottle is built, customers can personalize the label and walk out with it that very day. However, reservations are required for the bottle build ($120-$150) at Clearfork and can be made by clicking here. In addition to creating a full-sized custom bottle, this experience includes a tasting flight, and complimentary craft cocktail.
The opening weekend celebration begins next Saturday, with Oak & Eden offering the first 25 customers a limited-edition tote bag of goods, including a full-sized Clearfork exclusive Bourbon & Spiced Orange whiskey bottle.
“Oak & Eden was birthed out of an ideal for innovation,” the website reads. “We believe authority is released when a creator creates, and we believe everyone carries the spirit of creation in them.”
