Rahr & Sons Brewing will launch a new Limited Release 4-pack series, named “Hell’s Half Acre”, starting with the release of Iron Joe. Iron Joe combines Rahr & Sons’ award-winning Iron Thistle Strong Scotch Ale with Fort Worth’s Avoca Coffee Roasters’ Noir cold brew.
The brewery ages their Iron Joe beer in American oak barrels for three months to create a dark, rich beer with a creamy tan head and coffee nose. Rahr & Sons will launch Hell's Half Acre and Iron Joe with Avoca Coffee on Wednesday, March 4th at their brewery located in the Near Southside of Fort Worth.
Rahr & Sons Brewing's Hell's Half Acre beer series references the notorious saloons, gambling parlors and bordellos of the late 1800's historic, downtown Fort Worth. The Hell's Half Acre district was located along Commerce and Calhoun Streets in the south end of downtown, in what would become the Tarrant County Convention Center.
Rahr & Sons plans to release two different brews this year under the “Hell's Half Acre” series and hopes to continually expand the selection through this 4-pack beer series.
