Fans of Terra’s crispy falafel, mouthwatering moussakas and heavenly hummus have good reason to be hopeful for a speedy return to the Fort Worth market.
The abrupt closure of Terra Mediterranean Wednesday in Crockett Row stings worse than other closures. The announcement was made that one of the original tenants of the then-West Seventh development was pulling up stakes ― a restaurant that proved to be one of the city’s most authentic and consistent Middle Eastern restaurants for a solid decade.
Terra’s website had already removed the Fort Worth restaurant altogether as of Wednesday afternoon. Only their Plano and Irving locations remain, as well as Ali Baba Mediterranean Grill, which Adam and Jalal Chanaa first opened in Dallas on Lower Greenville in 1989.
But fans of Terra’s crispy falafel, mouthwatering moussakas and heavenly hummus have good reason to be hopeful for a speedy return to the Fort Worth market, and the announcement said as much.
“This is not a ‘goodbye’ but hopefully a ‘see you later’ as we reevaluate our presence in the Fort Worth market and look for a new location that better aligns our brand identity,” the release says. “We look forward to sharing news about what the next chapter looks like and seeing you when we pop back up in the future in Fort Worth.”
Terra staff Natalie Meyer says they would love to stay in Fort Worth proper. She says they’re looking for a new locale with great daytime presence for the lunch buffet.
“In general, something that is just a bit more accessible for all our customers and easier for customers to navigate and park,” she says.
