While October is mostly known for spooky festivities, it’s also the time when Grapevine hosts a month-long celebration of Texas wines. Texas is the fifth-largest wine-producing state in the nation, with over 400 wineries and 5,000 acres of producing vineyard farmland. Wine enthusiasts from all over are invited to come celebrate Texas Wine Month in Historic Downtown Grapevine, which offers live music and other entertainment.

Jazz Wine Train – Friday, Oct. 2, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 4, noon, on board the Grapevine Vintage Railroad
Experience a trip back in time aboard the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. The Jazz Wine Train includes tastings from each Grapevine winery tasting room, assorted hors d'oeuvres, a souvenir wine glass, and live jazz entertainment. Admire more than a dozen pieces of stunning bronze works, murals, and fine art galleries along the Public Art Trail, all while enjoying a diverse selection of vintage wine tastings and food samples at The 28th Annual New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail in Historic Downtown Grapevine. 37th Annual Lone Star International Wine Competition – Wednesday, Oct. 28 and Thursday, Oct. 29, at Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau
Come watch as wines from all over the world are judged by a panel of professional wine experts from Texas and California. After the competition, guests are encouraged to visit local winery tasting rooms along the Urban Wine Trail, located nearby in Historic Downtown Grapevine. The Lone Star International Wine Competition is hosted by the Texas Wine & Grape Growers Association and can be viewed live through the Grapevine Visitor Information Center’s showroom windows.
