Wicked Butcher
Tomahawk steak with wild mushrooms from Wicked Butcher
Wicked Butcher had quite the fanfare when it first opened in downtown Fort Worth's swanky Sinclair hotel in January — only to close two months later due to COVID-19.
It took a minute — well, about nine months actually — but the steakhouse has finally resumed in-person dining on its first floor, restaurant group DRG Concepts announced Tuesday.
The first floor is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The main dining room on the basement level of The Sinclair remains closed but will reopen in early 2021. Wicked Butcher also plans to add new menu items at a later date.
According to DRG, the restaurant spent its downtime reengineering and restructuring its operations to accommodate guests in the middle of a global pandemic. Wicked Butcher will utilize contactless systems and limit capacity, as well as enforce social distancing.
“We are so grateful to have the opportunity to reopen Wicked Butcher at The Sinclair and provide our one-of-a-kind experience once again to our guests,” Nafees Alam, CEO of DRG Concepts, said in a statement. “2020 has been a year of extremes with our January opening as a great highlight and our temporary closure as a painful outcome of the pandemic."
DRG Concepts' other restaurants in downtown Fort Worth — Wild Salsa and Chop House Burger in City Place on Throckmorton Street — remain closed but are expected to reopen in 2021. The group's anticipated Italian restaurant, Oven & Cellar, has yet to open as well, with "timing to be announced."
