Nonprofits could use some uplifting, especially these days.
And if there's a day to do that, it's today — Thursday marks the 12th Annual North Texas Giving Day, an 18-hour web-based fundraiser used to help build awareness for nonprofits all over the DFW area.
This initiative is led by the Communities Foundation of Texas, which aims to engage communities with their local philanthropies. In 2019, North Texas saw $50 million raised through the contributions of over 100,000 donors and hopes to surpass last year's record.
This year, donors can help all kinds of nonprofits, ranging from the arts to animal rescue and medical treatments. Some Fort Worth-based nonprofits include Saving Hope Rescue, The Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth, Stage West, The Angela Stanford Foundation, and the North Texas Area Community Health Centers, Inc.
