For most of us, St. Patrick’s Day means wearing green, so we don’t get pinched, partaking in green beer, and eating corn beef, and cabbage. But since we live in Fort Worth, it’s only proper to put a western spin on this Irish tradition with a few things like armadillo racing and cow milking. So, for your consideration, we’ve compiled a quick list of blarney events happening in and around Cowtown in the next few days.
Enjoy a St. Patrick's Day party with $5 green draft beers, lawn games & great live music Friday, March 17 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Livestock Exchange Lawns.
Cowtown Goes Green in the Stockyards
This is one of the biggest events happening this upcoming weekend, which will take place in the Stockyards on Saturday, March 18. Celebrate Irish heritage Texas-style with armadillo races, pony rides, clogging performers, a matinee rodeo, and the Irish-Western parade beginning at 4 p.m.
Demo & Dine St. Patrick’s Day Fare
Learn how to make Irish-influenced dishes including corned beef, barley soup, Irish potato cakes, and more complemented by Irish beer. This class is for anyone 21 and older and takes place on March 17 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Labeled the “Greatest Disco Band in the World”, 70s dance floor titans Le Freak will perform at Tannahill’s Tavern on March 17. Doors open at 7:30 PM, and tickets are $15 online or at the door.
Patrons to this event who order a green Barkarita will get to pick from MUTTS’ “Pot of Gold” for a chance to win prizes. This animal-friendly event will take place on March 17 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
St. Patrick’s Day Parking Lot Party
This annual parking lot party will host an outdoor bar, beer tubs, a live DJ, a crawfish boil, food trucks, and oh yes — Jell-O shots. This three-day event starts on March 17 at 7 a.m. and ends on March 19 at 2 a.m.
