Pamela Skjolsvik
Her book tells the story of an eternally menopausal vampire; so, naturally, author Pamela Skjolsvik will be hosting a blood drive to celebrate its release.
Skjolsvik's book, Forever 51, will debut Sunday at a blood drive from 1 – 5 p.m. at The Dock Bookshop (6637 Meadowbrook Drive). Carter Blood Care's mobile unit will be parked onsite, and donors can sign up via this link.
The event will also include light snacks, vampire swag, and prizes for those who donate, along with signed copies of Forever 51 available for purchase.
Forever 51 follows Veronica, a 51-year-old vampire with a drinking problem, who embarks on a quest to find and apologize to every person she turned into a vampire in the last century in an effort to regain her mortality. The book has already received praise from reviewers and authors like Grady Hendrix, who wrote the New York Times bestseller, The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires: “Forever 51 takes vampire fiction into terrifying new territory: middle age. A very funny, very bloody book about growing older and getting dead.”
Additionally, the Fort Worth Public Library will be hosting a virtual book launch Saturday at 4 p.m.
